It is 3:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning. We have had sick little boy's since June 6th. They have been vomiting every day to every other day since then. It is usually just once and in the middle of the night or early in the morning. The very strange thing about this is, they are perfectly fine all day... eating, playing, pretty much normal. I took them to the doctor last Wednesday just because I was so frustrated. They basically told me that it was just a bad stomach flu virus and it could last up to 2 weeks! He said to keep them on a bland diet (which is what we had been doing.) Well, the last time Clayton got sick was Thursday night and Connor got sick on Friday night. So I was thinking that we were finally in the clear, only to wake up to Clayton screaming at 1:00 this morning. He has since thrown up every 15-20 minutes. This is the first time that it actually seems like the "flu", vomiting until the tummy is totally empty. I would really covet your prayers. I just feel so bad for my boy's! I am getting rather weary from being up at night, washing puke and diarrhea out of bedding, carpet and clothing and just not knowing what else I can do. David had called me today and told me he set up a babysitter for us to go out on Wednesday night, we haven't been out on a date since our anniversary, May 6th. I was looking so forward to going out! I really want to try and have a positive attitude but I am really struggling right now. I will update you when I get a chance. Thank-you for your prayers!
P.S. If anyone has any idea please let me know!
Oh Briana, this sounds absolutely terrible! I can imagine you must be totally exhausted and weary of this dragging on. I will definitely be praying for you and David and the boys and that healing will come quickly. Love you!
ReplyDeleteBriana,
ReplyDeleteI will be praying for you all. 2 1/2 weeks is a long time for someone to have the flu bug. We got the flu a couple weeks ago. Mine was the worst, but it lasted less than a week. Ana got it on a Friday night and by the next Monday she was fine! Mom did a lot of rain drop therapy on her with essential oils- a couple times a day and we think that is what helped her get over it so fast, including prayer, and Dad just had it for a few hours during a night. Do you have any Young Living essential oils? (I wouldn't recommend any other brand for this type of thing.)
Make sure they are getting enough water so they don't get dehydrated, I am sure you are making sure of that already.
What are they eating for the evening meal and after? Maybe smaller amounts and easy to digest food could help. (Peaches are an easy-to-digest food.) Also, Ginger is a good soother for a upset tummy, if they will take some.
Have you and David had this flu?
We will be praying for you all. :)
Love and prayers,
Amy Wolf
